Knitting wasn't enough.........

So I bought a spinning wheel.
And I am learning to spin.
Everyone asks me why....
My answer: It is like cooking from scratch.

My wheel:
An Ashford Joy...double peddle.

The beginning of a scarf that I made for Trish...a simple random drop stitch...but it showed the yarn changes so nicely :-)

WIP Wednesday!!

I have this Work-In-Progress that hasnt been recieving much work or progress! So this Wednesday I am showing it hoping to motivate myself to get it done and be able to post in an upcoming Finished Object Friday :-)

This little bear blanket is going to be for a new baby in our church...I need to get it done she was born in March! My aunt had made a blanket like this for me and I could never find the pattern...so a really sweet vetern crocheter from my local yarn shop looked at the blanket and wrote the pattern out for me. You can get the pattern here

Shalom Cardigan

I am standing in the yarn store waiting to check out and staring at the handspun yarn on the wall.  Staring at it...feeling its loneliness wanting a home...but I can barely knit smooth milled yarn so I am definitely not up to tackling knubby yarn...looks a little too unruley for me.
Then for some reason I pull some off the wall and buy it.  I take it home and am no longer interested in the orginal project...all I can think about is knitting up that yarn.  I look through my stash and the lime green shines through.

The rest is history...I was in love.

Weaving!

I went to a weaving workshop today at Weavers Corner.

I can hardly wait to go back!
I made two dishcloths:

And a beautiful rug for my kitchen from the ugliest fabric remnants ever!!

Now I am totally in love with weaving ...how to get Bryan to buy me a floor loom?!
